Thanks for Supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Seacoast
Making a difference one child at a time.
We've have had so much fun supporting this wonderful agency and we want to thank all of you who traveled through the ice storm to make it to our annual gentleman's night.
Although the storm made travel near impossible you all made it to the boutique (and home safely) to make your purchases knowing that a portion of the proceeds were being donated.
On behalf of the agency and the Board of Directors I want to thank all of you for your continued support.
To learn more about the agency please visit their website at www.nhseacoastbigbrothersbigsisters.org.

Diamonds In The News...
What Recession?

Christie's Auction House, London, sold the 35.56 carat Wittelsbach blue diamond for a phenomenal $24.3 Million, and is said to have been the highest price for a diamond sold at auction.
The diamond was mined in India nearly 400 years ago, and has a royal history, including being owned by Leopold I of Austria, who was at one time Holy Roman Emperor. The diamond known as Der Blaue Wittelsbacher came into possession of the Wittelsbach family upon the marriage of Archduchess Maria Amalia of Austria to the Bavarian Crown Prince, Charles Albert, in 1722. It has since been worn by successive rulers of that family until the abdication of the throne of King Ludwig III in 1918.
The diamond had been privately owned since 1964, but was sold in December to international jeweler Laurence Graff.
Diamonds are apparently recession-proof, as Christie's has claimed 2008 to be "the best jewelry season ever seen at auction," with auctions totaling $226 Million for the first half of 2008.
